Speakers:

prof. Ben Davidson (Norway)

Professor, Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo and Attending Pathologist, Department of Pathology, Norwegian Radium Hospital, Oslo University Hospital, Oslo, Norway. Sub-specialist in cytopathology and Gynecopathology. His research interests are focused on cancer diagnosis, metastasis, cell survival, and studies of prognosis and chemoresistance, mainly in cancers involving the serosal cavities like ovarian carcinoma, breast carcinoma and malignant mesothelioma. He is an author of 250 peer-reviewed scientific publications and several book chapters, as well as editor of a book on serous effusions.

prof. Mogens Vyberg (Denmark)

Professor of Clinical Pathology at Aalborg University, Senior Consultant and the Head of the Laboratory of Immunohistochemistry at the Institute of Pathology, Aalborg University Hospital, Denmark. His main research fields and expertise are immunohistochemistry and gastrointestinal, liver and brain pathology. He is author and co-author of more than 75 scientific papers and several book chapters in these fields as well as the text book Compendium of Applied Immunohistochemistry (Danish; English version scheduled for 2015). He is also a co-founder and scheme director of the Nordic Immunohistochemical Quality Control (NordiQC).

prof. Ari Ristimäki (Finland)

Professor of Clinical Surgical Pathology at Haartman Institute, University of Helsinki, Head of Gastrointestinal Pathology and Coordinator of Molecular Pathology at Meilahti Pathology Laboratories, Division of Pathology and Genetics, HUSLAB and Helsinki University Central Hospital as well as Principal Investigator, Genome-Scale Biology, Research Programs Unit, University of Helsinki, Finland. His research concentrates mainly on translational research in inflammation and cancer particularly of gastrointestinal tract. His scientific activities include 124 published original articles, as well as a number of reviews and book chapters. He is a member of the core group and assessor in general module in NordiQC.

Jan Klos MD (Norway)

Senior Consultant and a Head of the Immunohistochemistry Section in the Department of Pathology, Stavanger University Hospital, Norway.  His professional focus is on diagnostic pathology and particularly hematopathology, pathology of the breast and cytopathology.  He has been actively involved in teaching immunohistochemistry since 2000 as co-organizer of national and international meetings and as invited lecturer. Since 2009 he is a member of the core group and assessor in NordiQC organization. He is a co-author of more than 30 publications in the field of pathology.

Søren Nielsen HT (Denmark)

Senior Histotechnologist and project coordinator at Institute of Pathology, Aalborg Hospital, Denmark. He has been involved within immunohistochemistry for more than 20 years. He is the scheme manager of Nordic immunohistochemical Quality Control (NordiQC) from the beginning of the organization. He is also an assessor and data analyst in the NordiQC general module, breast module and HER-2 ISH module as well as a regular lecturer and organizer of national and international immunohistochemical workshops, particularly in the field of protocol optimization. He has also more than 20 scientific papers based on immunohistochemical studies.
